According to his DNA test, he is about half Beagle and half Shih Tzu. This roughly tracks with his colors, coat, desire to eat and sniff everything, and desire to sit on laps all day.
He loves food the most, but generally spends his days cuddling on the couch, napping on his dog bed, taking walks through the park, playing around obstacles in the dog park, or viciously destroying his fluffiest toys. He likes playtime but is overall a very mellow dog.
He's about 23 pounds but he's a bit chunky. We hope to help him get down to around 20 pounds.
We adopted him from Willamette Humane Society in September of 2020. The shelter took him in as a stray, so we don't know where he's from, but he was already house trained so he was likely a pet at some point in the past.
The shelter vets guessed around 5 years old, but it's not an exact process. He's not a puppy but he's generally happy and healthy.
